Traveller information
White beaches, the world’s second largest barrier reef, stunning mountains, Mayan ruins and quaint villages await you on a trip to Honduras. This paradise in Central America is often ignored by tourists, but those who skip over this country are missing out on some fantastic experiences. With so many natural wonders such as Rio Cangrejal famous for rafting experiences or Cascada Zacata – stunning waterfalls set within the Parque Nacional Pico Bonito – Honduras is truly a country gifted with beauty.
The Bay Islands are also part of the country and these offer visitors the opportunity to take part in all kinds of watersports, as well as a variety of tourist activities. The three islands – Utila, Roatan and Guanaja – are located approximately 25km off the coast of Honduras and are home to a stunning coral reef that’s teeming with marine life. Divers love the area so much that they often visit and choose to stay. There’s plenty of tourist attractions to be found on the mainland too: Copan, for instance, offers views of the wonders of the Mayan civilisation while the Parque Nacional Celaque offers mountain views and lush forest.
