Traveller information

Nicaragua is a vast country in Central America and is a place of completely mesmerizing beauty. Its diverse landscapes cover everything from dramatic volcanoes to secluded islands with peaceful beaches and plenty of sun. Although tourism in the country is growing steadily, the political turmoil and natural disasters experienced by Nicaragua in the past have kept the numbers low. This means that much of the country is left undeveloped for foreign visitors…and much the better for it. Get right off the well-trodden path and explore the stunning natural sights.

There are many things Nicaragua excels at, one of which are its beaches. From wind-shattered Pacific coastlines, famed for their surf, to the rich-with-wildlife Corn Islands, there are also plenty of sleepy, undeveloped beaches where you can lay down a towel in relative peace. Beyond the beaches is the country’s gorgeous architecture, with the Colonial town of Grenada the true gem in the crown. This brilliantly preserved destination has a beautiful cathedral and promenades that’ll take you back 500 years. And it wouldn’t be a visit to Nicaragua without intense outdoor adventure: exploring the jungle, hiking volcanoes and hitting the waves all are popular pursuits.
