You can’t miss the trek up to the “Tiger’s Nest”, Bhutan’s most sacred religious site – this monastery, founded in 1692, is one of the country’s most iconic buildings. 900 metres high, it clings almost improbably to a sheer cliff face and is accessed by paths well-trodden by pilgrims. Bhutan is also known for its colourful festivals, ubiquitous traditional dress, and unique handicrafts.
